Ta'Amara comes from a very militeristic background of the Mousian Independant Defence Force. She started out in the ground forces as it was mandatory for all to serve at least a minuim of three years in the military, when showing that she had the quick reflexes and stamina and smarts to handle the stress of flying in high speeds combat situations. She found out that she loved to fly ships, no matter what type or condition they was in. But in order to fly, she would have to re-enlist as a volunteer in order to get commission and the training. Which she did.

Soon after that she was amongst the best and then ordered to Space Fleet of the MIDF, which meant intensive training and new challenges as the Mousian had discovered the Federation. and soon after careful negotations, Mousian were allowed to become part of Starfleet on an Officer's Exchange Program
