Lerranna Kanoi had been wandering the ship for a bit now, having just set the process to grow and replace Ellis' eyes into motion and having little to do save for wait. Whistling a happy Betazoid tune she walked through the corridors until something caught her attention: a desperate call for help, panic, and the smell of smoke. ~Someone is in that tube.~ She concluded, touching it with her hand she found it hot, ~And they're in danger.~

Wrapping her lab coat around her hands she pried open the Jeffries Tube and crawled in, trying hard not to breathe in too much smoke and create a situation where two people needed rescue. It wasn't long before her hands found a small, furry body. Judging from the fur and the general construction of it the person she'd come for was a Mousian, ~Terribly cute creatures.~ She smiled to herself, beginning to drag the small, injured creature out of the Tube, =A=Computer, initiate fire control protocol Alpha.=A=

Listening closely for breath sounds Leranna was thrilled to hear the little Mousian breathing on her own, "Are you all right, child?' She asked, stroking the Mousians hair and ears as she did so.

Ta'Amara ears twitched, along with her tail, ~~People! About time!~~ thought flashed in her mind, heart rate increased, yet she still remained unconscious, from internal smoke inhalation damages, but still allowing her to get air to sustain life, then heart rate decreased back to it's more sedate pace.

Hope had flared within her, even if it was at a subconscious level. Tail wiggled and ears flickered under the caressing.

Lerrana could feel the sparks of consciousness coming from the little Mousians brain and decided to communicate with her there, ~It's all right, child. I'm a doctor and you're going to be fine.~

Even without telepathy Lerrana knew her patient had inhaled a lot of smoke, ~I'm going to give you something to neutralize the toxins you inhaled in the smoke, then I'm going to put you on an oxygen mask for a bit. Stay calm, you will be okay.~ Synthesizing the compound that would eliminate the smoke from the Mousian's lungs into a gaseous form, Lerrana quickly applied it to her patient's furry neck, "Okay, now do your magic."

The harshness to her breath slowly left as the toxins were broken down and expelled, easing strain on her, increasing body movements, tail wiggle turned into a slow weaving curve from the base to work outward, paw fingers twitched, within the torn cloth from her clothing as gloves, as oxygenated blood was slowly restored. A soft squeee like moan from the pain signaling live returning to the extremities.

Muzzle twitched against the oxygen mask, ears swivelled, perking up to hear better. ~~weak...prisoner?~~ words flashed through her mind, trembled abit, unsure of her future. ~~why nice now?~~

"No, darling, you're not a prisoner." Lerrana said, replying to her thoughts, "Judging from your clothing I would say you're a member of the crew of this ship. I'm Dr. Kanoi, my daughter is the CO, you're on the Journeyman. You're safe."

"Squeee..." Softly, but muffled by the mask, ~~yooz little people that run the ship? [image of faceless people standing tall in the jeffery tubes, wearing non-descript jumpsuit] Why contact now?~~ Body visibily tensing up as tail gives several violent ripple from base to tip. Still to weak from oxygen deprivation.

"Darling, I don't really have a clue what you're talking about right now." Lerrana answered comfortingly, "Just know that you're here on the USS Journeyman, and you're safe. I'm going to beam us both to sickbay now."

In a shimmer of blue light Lerrana and her little patient arrived in sickbay, the Mousian on a biobed and she standing beside it. Grabbing a dermal regenerator she began to work on the Mousian's injured fingers, "Looks like you tried to tunnel your way out of that tube, little one."

Ta'Amara felt the tingle of the transporter and then felt the softness of the bed that she now lay on. Then the gentle touch of the Medic working on her fingers. Visibly relaxed again as her tail gently wrapped around the lady's leg. Warmest sky blue eyes blinked open then closed. Another soft "squeeee.."

Lerrana simply smiled as the little Mousian's tail caressed her leg, "Wish all my patients were as friendly as you are." She said, "Don't worry, dear, I'll have you on your feet again in no time."

"Squeak?" Eyes open again, looking around seeing more people that was the normal size. Looks at the lady taking care of her paw/hands. "I-iz .. how Iz get here?" Letting the lady treat her.

"You were in the Jeffries Tube, darling." Lerrana answered, "I just happened by and felt your mind calling for help, so I opened the tube and pulled you out, had the computer put out the fire. Then we beamed directly here so I could get right to work on getting you better."

"Squeak!" Ears droop with embarrassment, looking away, "Iz thought Iz was on small people ship." Hold her paw/hands apart about two feet. "Iz guess transporters and mez don't get along too well....." Looking thoughtful, "Am Iz Awol?" Looks at Lerrana, worried.

"No, darling, you're not AWOL, besides, you've got a doctor's note." Lerrana smiled, "And even if Capt. Li-Cho wanted to come down on you I would stop her, you see, I'm her mommy."

"Squeak! Iz guess Mother's outranks any Fleeter," smiles, relaxing back on the bio bed. "Iz starving!" Softly exclaims. Looking about the room, It felt good to be amongst the normancy of being in a starship proper. "Iz thought Iz was a small people's ship while being in the Jefferies Tubes and theyz was invisible."
